15 September 2007 FISHING RODEO:
Help from Club Members Needed!
The Meade Rod and Gun Club, the Fort Meade Outdoor Recreation Branch, and the Maryland Department of Natural Resources will co-sponsor the Youth Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, 15 September 2007. Click "Fishing Rodeo Brochure" link at left for pdf brochure. This year Ft. Meade has made the Fishing Rodeo part of a national Boys & Girls Clubs Day for Kids.
BGC Day for Kids is a day set aside each year to celebrate and honor America's children by spending meaningful time with them. It's about celebrating kids – children, grandchildren or any child in need of mentoring. For us it is about to be a much bigger crowd, many additional activities happening around the lake, people wandering over to have some food and watch the fishing rodeo, so help is even more welcome than usual. You could come to the club's meeting place (Outdoor adventure center, building T-04) at 8 a.m. to help move supplies to the lake, help with registration, food preparation or cleanup. It is a fun event and one our the club's contributions to the Ft. Meade community. The fishing rodeo itself is at Burba Lake, Fort Meade, Maryland and is open to all DOD personnel and their related family members. Interested individuals must have access to Fort Meade via proper DOD identification and DOD vehicle registration. Club member volunteers can enter in the usual manner with drivers license, registration, and proof of insurance card. Event registration will be conducted in Burba Park Cottage.
RSVP to Webmaster if you can be there. Thanks!
